"CROWN OF ROSES"

I never came to a point asking myself "why do I need to pray the HOLY ROSARY?", because in the first place I am a catholic and all Catholics must know how to pray the rosary. I started praying the Rosary when I was in High School because we were taught how to do it. I came from an RVM school which is ruled by nuns, RVM stands for the Religious of the Virgin Mary, a religious congregation founded by Venerable Ignacia del Espiritu Santo. Our school is not just an academically oriented school but also a spiritually directed place for learning. Anyway, too much for my academic history stuff. Like any other people, I also have reasons why I pray the Rosary. I am not a religious man, you don't have to be religious for you to qualify praying the rosary but keep in mind that when you pray the rosary, your intentions but be sincere so that it will be heard by God through the intercession of Mama Mary.

THE HOLY ROSARY
"Say the Rosary every day...
Pray, pray a lot and offer sacrifices for sinners...
I'm Our Lady of the Rosary.
Only I will be able to help you.
...In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph.
Our Lady of Fatima

With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary.n every apparition (a ghostly appearing figure), the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace.

As I have mentioned in the first paragraph, our intentions must be sincere. Intentions are the reasons why we pray the Rosary. Read the list below as an example:

  • For forgiveness. To ask for forgiveness and to be forgiving.
  • For world peace, respect for human life and for a strong family relationship.
  • For the propagation of God's love and Mercy and to increase our Catholic faith.
  • For our religious brothers and sister (priests and nuns) that they may continue to serve God faithfully.
  • For more man and women who would want to follow Christ and serve Him. (Increase of vocation for priest and nuns).
  • For peace and order of our Country, for our Gov't. Leaders, so that they may be totally converted to God.

HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

  • Recite a Hail Mary for an increase of faith, hope and charity on each of the three small beads.
  • Recall the first Rosary Mystery and recite the Our Father on the large bead.
  • On each of the adjacent ten small beads (also refered to as a decade) recite a Hail Mary while reflecting on the mystery.
  • On the next large bead, recite the Glory Be to the Father, the Fatima prayer.
  • Each succeeding decade is prayed in a similar manner by recalling the appropriate mystery, reciting the Our Father, ten Hail Marys, the Glory Be to the Father, and the Fatima prayer while reflecting on the mystery.
  • When the fifth mystery is completed, the Rosary is Customarily concluded with the Hail Holy Queen, and the Sign of the Cross.
